About Decorative Micro Greens kit
The Urbanscape kit for growing micro-veggies lets us grow vitamins without soil. Instead, the growing medium is a pad made of mineral fibres made from pure volcanic rock (and without added chemicals). Its big advantage is its ability to retain moisture, which provides ideal conditions for the germination and growth of small plantlets.
Kit dimensions: 55 x 12 x 6 cm
Individual decorative kits include: planting tray base (white, or a wooden base in natural oak), a mineral fibre pad, seeds (cress, arugula, radish).
Easy to use:
1. Put the mineral fibre pad in the planting tray and add water (about 1 litre). Spread the seeds evenly across the entire surface of the pad and lightly press them into the pad. Sprinkle the seeds carefully by spraying them with the sprayer.
2. Place the tray in a light place on the window sill. Seeds will germinate in 3–7 days. During germination, spray them once or twice a day with water to keep the pad moist. Avoid leaving any standing water in the tray.
3. After germination, water or spray the young plants according to their needs. Make sure the pad does not dry out. After 10–14 days your micro-vegetables are ready for use. Plantlets can be cut with scissors just above the pad when the first pair of true leaves show.
4. Once you’ve pick all the micro-vegetables, replace the mineral fibre pad with a new one and repeat the entire planting process. This way you’ll have fresh vitamin supplements available all year round, even in winter. Micro-vegetables are a great addition to salads and sandwiches, but can also be served as a side dish alongside main dishes.
